Chicago Ad-Tech 2006 Presentations
I haven’t had time to post on Ad Tech this year and honestly I only got to stop by for one, greatly under estimated, presentation on Advertising and Gaming (Interactive Gaming: 50 Billion Things You Need to Know) by Jonathan Epstein, President and CEO, Double Fusion and Michael Gartenberg, Senior Researcher, JupiterKagan Inc.
I say under estimated because according to their predictions game related advertising will be a billion dollar industry in the next couple years. The prediction is based on statistics that show more and more people “Tivo” thru television commercials making the $50 billion spent annually on US TV advertising continually less effective. That’s where games come in.
With some of the most desirable demographic spending more time playing video games the opportunity for advertiser’s to run campaigns in this new medium is increasing. Here are just some of the advertising opportunities mentioned in the presentation:
- Gamer Web sites
- In-Game Ads
- Gamer IM Tools
- Advergames
- Live Events
- Online Events
- Mobile Devices
This is an emerging industry I have a strong interest in and will continue to investigate. But back to Ad Tech Chicago 2006…
I just received an email today that provided a link to many of the Chicago 2006 Presentations online in PDF format. This is a great chance to see what you may have missed. Unfortunately, the Gaming Presentation is not available. Luckily, many others are.
Here are the Chicago Ad-Tech 2006 Presentations
