Nerd Thoughts…

For those unfamiliar with the situation , here’s a recap:

South Park ran a series poking fun a Scientology as they do with everything. Nothing strange there. But apparently Scientologists can’t laugh at themselves. Popular media outlets are making this assumption because Isaac Hayes, who plays the character of Chef and who is also a member of Scientology, decided to quit the program saying,

“There is a place in this world for satire but there is a time when satire ends and intolerance and bigotry toward religious beliefs begins” - BBC

… Guess he never watched South Park until this episode. Anyway, here’s the “sweet” part:

According to this article in the BBC, “South Park has exacted revenge on its former star Isaac Hayes by turning his character Chef into a pedophile and seemingly killing him off.” It goes on to say, “Hayes did not participate in the episode but his lines were apparently patched together from previous recordings.” One such “patched together line is Chef repeatedly telling the children he wants to “make sweet love” to them.

I gotta see this episode.
